Let’s take a look at this list of NBA players:

What do they have in common?

They’re superstars? You’re missing the point. That word is one of the most abused in the NBA anyway but we’re not talking about today.

They’re getting traded this offseason? I don’t know who told you that but it’s not me.

They’re leaving the NBA? Stop just stop alright🤦🏾‍♂️

Look closely again…

When was the last time you saw these guys on the court? Ah-ha, now you get it. These players either spent the whole season sidelined or barely played.

Not them alone. You noticed LeBron, KD & Joel Embiid have been in and out of the court many times this season.

Let’s not talk about other players like AD & Kendrick Nunn. I’m sure you have a player in mind that’s missed a significant part of the season for one reason or the other.

The question is why does this go on and on? I know injuries happen every now & then.

I mean it’s impossible to play in one of the most physical games in the world & stay solid all season like Rodman’s rebound game.

And while you have other ideas in mind it looks like we’ve been missing the whole point…

It’s been right in our midst & we haven’t realized cos it’s almost unnoticeable like Isiah Thomas…😂

Let me explain what I mean fellas.

So the other day I was talking with a mad Bulls fan. This guy wasn’t having it. He was pissed that the Bucks hit his team hard. He argued if the team was healthier it wouldn’t be that bad

Then I made it worse by beating him in all the games we were playing. I couldn’t hold back my laughter, tears followed.

Then he said something that hit my head like a dunk:

“THE NBA GAMES ARE TOO MANY”

I paused for a second and thought he had a point.

Think about it…

82 back-to-back games in a season

3 to 4 games in a week & I don’t need to remind you how physical the game is. Travelling all through the season with only the All-Star break somewhere in the middle for most players to relax.

And what about the physical side of the game? Another nightmare. So intense

Hold on hold on. I know you’re thinking about a lot right now…

You: They can be reckless in play

Me: Well I’ll have you know there’s a thin line between playing ‘safe’ and reckless in this game. Ask Tatum in game 3 v the Heat or KD v the Celtics

You: They get paid well

Me:  So they get paid to get burned out and miss several games? You don’t have a point. That’s lame.

You: Don’t they hire the best fitness trainers and work out all the time?

Me: Yes they do and while staying fit and in shape helps to avoid injuries, it doesn’t change the fact a lot of games where these players out

Any more? Alright then.

The question you should be asking is why in the name of Jordans are there 82 freaking games a season. What’s the rationale behind it?

Did you just say more games = more entertainment 🤦🏾‍♂️?

Puh-lease… The NBA started 75 years ago & has & will always be mind-blowing. It feels like Adam Gold… Oh sorry Adam Silver & the previous commissioners prefer those fat TV right cheques coming in (And we can’t blame ‘em)

But what if the league went on this way…

58 games a season. Each team gets to play the other only twice similar to the home & away format football leagues use.

Hold on it doesn’t have to be exactly the same but you understand what I’m saying right? Great

What about the play-in games? I know the management introduced it for ‘more thrills’ but you know what?

SCRAP THAT SHIT!

That’s the lamest thing to come out of the NBA since JR Smith dribbling out the shot clock in the 2018 game 1 final v the Warriors (sorry not sorry for bringing that back if you’re a Cavs fan😂 )

Back to the play-in games. Have you noticed the teams that take the last 2 slots are always the 7th and 8th in the regular season?🤦🏾‍🤷🏾‍♂️

Is it just me? So what’s the point of the extra games if they don’t change anything?

Let’s leave the playoffs the way it is. Any plans to increase the ‘thrills’ of the game in that regard will only make it worse.

That’s what she said.

Most superstars stay injured & you don’t get to see dope matchups between them.

The franchises have to rely on rookies or other players to carry the team & drop a lot of games in the course.

Some players never come back the same way. Some have retired in the past. I can go on and on here.

Anyway, what do I know?

Some dumbass rule can come in soon & change the number of players in a game (no seriously) or increase timeouts in a game so we can have more boring ads halt the flow of the game (I HATE IT)

I can’t count the number of games I quit early because of Ads… These days I prefer highlights…

But efforts to at least sustain player durability and make them healthy look like a tough nut that’ll never crack. May the injuries keep piling up then.

In the end, the best ABILITY is AVAILABILITY.

Speaking of the playoffs.  At this moment it looks like Luka & the Mavs are about to get swept.

I don’t think game 4 will be any different. Let’s see how that goes. Has anyone realized Mark Cuban is numb now😂? That’s what you get for trading your superstar PF.
